ELT Phonetics and Phonology

This course is developed on general theories on phonetics and phonology and their contribution on English language teaching, The concepts in sound production are discussed, how they relate to the native and non-native speaker identities of English speakers is analysed and how they contribute learners' phonetic and phonological errors is also identified. 

Full participation is required. Students must write two phonetic and phonological papers. In Assignment #1, students must write a maximum 1000-word response paper (max 4 pages) on the ideas presented in the class. In Assignment #2, students must write a maximum 5000 research paper (max 20 pages).
