Nusa Tenggara Languages and Cultures in Contact
This course discusses multilingual and multicultural situations of the communities in Lombok and in Sumbawa where local languages and cultures (i.e. Sasak, Balinese, Samawa, Taliwang, Mbojo, and minority languages) and global languages and cultures (i.e. international and tourism varieties of English). The impact that the conditions have on global and local English language teaching is also discussed in the class and parts of students' mini-research papers..
SLA Theory and Language Teaching
This course is aimed at bringing SLA theories on English language teaching
Sociolinguistics and Language Teaching
The aim of the course is to bring to students' attention contemporary sociolinguistic concepts such as mutliculturalism and multilingualism as well as the impact they might have on contemporary teaching practices.
Syntax and English Language Teaching
This course aims at implementing syntactic theories on English language teaching.
Translation and Interpretation-S2
This course aims at providing the students with some knowledge about theories and skills of translation and interpretation that can be used to conduct related researches. This two credit point course is managed through 1 credit point for theories and the remaining 1 credit point for practice. The process of teaching and learning goes through discussion then practice which is initieted by lecturer or student presentation. Students’ mastery of theories and practice will be put into account for judging the students’ proficiency.
