
INTENSIVE ENGLISH COURSE 2024
This course is intended to introduce students to some basic skills in skills. These skills include receptive skills (Listening and Reading) and productive skills (Speaking and Writing). In addition, work on vocabulary building and grammar as well as pronunciation are also addressed. During the course students are exposed to both spoken and written English which will be bases for developing their speaking and writing ability.

Creative Literary Writing _2021
Creative Literary Writing (CLW) is a 2-credited course that plans to make students able to write literary works, especially fiction and poetry with their own inspiration, creativity, and knowledge. In its process, the students will be helped, facilitated, and supervised in their process of creativity and their writing activity. By the end of the course, they have to submit their works: (1) short story in the mid of semester and (2) piece of poetry and video of their poem reading in the end of semester. The outcome of this course is bridge them as real writers of literary works after they graduate from the English Education program of FKIP University of Mataram.

English for Non-English Students
This is English Subject for those students whose major is not English

Microteaching 6Ex-3
This course is designed to provide students with opportunities to experience and analyse English lessons on different topics.

Innovation in ELT CG1
The course is designed to equip students with the
concepts, principles, modes, and the application of innovation in English
Language Teaching. Having attended the course meetings and completed all
assignments, students are expected to gain knowledge about innovation in ELT
and create/develop an innovate ELT class through an integration of information
and technology (when necessary)

English (Bhs Indo 2D)
This course is designed for the students of 2D class of Indonesian Education Dept. This English 2 course contains the materials which cover the four skills of English: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. In addition, some grammatical rules will also be discussed and practiced in this course.

English for Information Technology
This course is designed for the students of informatics engineering which aims at introducing the English used related to information technology. This course covers the language functions, grammar, and common technical terms used in the field of information technology.
This course is prepared for the 2nd semester students of informatics engineering.

Academic Writing 4A
his course provides students with knowledge and skills essential in
academic writing. To support this aim, a range of topics be provided in
this course such as using academic vocabulary, writing general -
specific texts, commenting on data, note taking, paraphrasing and
summarising, writing up a research paper and finally documenting
references.

English Practice 4A
This course build students' competence in English skills especially in speaking and listening. To achieve this aim, the course provides the students with a lot of English speaking and listening practices on a wide range of topics from the simple to the more complex ones. An innovative method where the students are at the centre of the learning process is also used for the achieement of the learning aim.

English Practice 4E
This course builds students' competence in English skills particularly in speaking and listening. To achieve this aim, the course provides the students with a lot of English speaking and learning practices on a wide range of topics such as cinema, music, sport, weather, travel and news. An innovative method where the students are at the centre of learning process is also used for the achievement of the lesson aim.

English Practice 4 I

Academic Writing 4B/2021

English Semantics
As a study of meaning, SEMANTICS provides the students with opportunities to examine word families and order related words by degree or intensity. It is expected that when communicating, the students will choose words appropriate for the context and audience, and that they will employ strategies for generating, extending and retrieving vocabulary. In short, they will be able to convey richer meaning when speaking and/or writing.
In detail, the students are expected to recognize the basic principles and concepts of semantics and pragmatics. Besides, they are provided with the way languages organize and express meanings through words, parts of words and sentences. To achieve the learning objective, this course deals with: 1) relations of words to other words, and sentences to other sentences, 2) the importance of ‘tone of voice’ and ‘body language’ in face-to-face exchanges, and the role of context in any communication, 3) comparisons of features in other languages, 4) exploration of the knowledge speakers of a language must have in common to enable them to communicate, 5) discussions of the nature of language; the structure of discourse; the distinction between lexical and grammatical meaning, 6) examination of lexical relations such as synonymy, antonymy, and hyponymy; ambiguity; implication; factivity; 7) aspectuality, 8) modality and pragmatics, including presupposition and entailment.

Poetry 4D
This course is designed to develop the insight and understanding of the students about poetry as one genre of literature beside prose and drama. This course will introduce the basic concepts of poetry, the types and elements of poetry works along with the practice of analysis and criticism on some prominent English poems.
