Critical Listening (E, F, G)
This course is designed for the 3rd semester students of English education study program to train their listening skill to comprehend miscellaneous spoken texts in English such as monologues, dialogues (conversation), lectures, directions, etc which cover wide range of topics,settings,and situations. This course will give the students the opportunity to enhance their listening comprehensions and critical thinking skill as well as learning some strategies in listening.
Literal Reading (A, B, C, D, H)
This course is designed to train the first semester students to read and comprehend various kinds of texts in English with pre intermediate to intermediate levels. In this course, the students will practice reading to find the main ideas of texts and also to identify specific details in the texts as well as learning some strategies in reading such as scanning, skimming, speed reading, etc.
RESEARCH ON ELT
This platform is designed for all classes of Research on ELT that I design this semester. When all students have enrolled in this class, other classes will be eliminated from the platform.
This unit introduces students with concepts and principles of research on English language teaching, preparing students with skills for proposal, thesis, and article writing. Several types of ELT-related studies, designs, and methods of data collection and analysis will be introduced, practiced and assessed throughout the course. Parametric and non-parametric measures for bivariate and multivariate analyses will be the main menu in addition to relevant qualitative analyses in the field.
There will be problem sets assigned to individual students in each session of the unit which should be uploaded to the system at particular sets of time. Late submission is not acceptable. There will also be TWO differentiated comprehensive overview tests both for midterm and final tests.
Minimum 75% attendance and maximum 15 minute's-late rules are used.
MKDU Bahasa Inggris (MANAJEMEN )
Mata kuliah ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbahasa Inggris secara umum (General English) namun dengan penekanan pada ketrampilan membaca dan menulis (reading and writing). Untuk
mendukung relevansi kompetensi mahasiswa, maka kegiatan tersebut ditekankan pada ranah ekonomi dan
bisnis. Dalam perkuliahan ini diharapkan mahasiswa mempunyai kemampuan berbahasa Inggris baik aktif
maupun pasif
English syntax
syntax for most relates to the organization of the patterning of clauses in well-accepted manner. in order to fulfill the job then it is crucial for the learners to be introduced with the very basics of the course. this may include on the priority the mastery of phrasal, clausal and sentential underlying patterning. so this course is focused on the working and discussion of phrasal construction, the relationships hold among the units constituting the construction. some comparison showing the various development taking place in the history of English will be further elaborated after the basics have been covered.
Intoduction to English Literature
this course is aimed at introducing the student on the historical, social and linguistic background making up the english literary works.
Elementary English Grammar (Husnul Lail)
Understanding Elementary English Grammar for students of English Study Program is a prerequisite for further development of English proficiency at both spoken and written discourse. It will facilitate students’ learning at all language skills (Listening, Speaking, Reading, let alone Writing). Grammar is also needed for content courses. Without adequate understanding of English Grammar, the students will not be able to express themselves appropriately and accurately in the subjects. It is expected that these series of courses will be able to provide solid foundations for both preparing themselves as teachers and coping with their study.
5TP-2 Research on ELT (Kamaludin Yusra, PhD)
This course introduces students to principles and procedures for qualitative and quantitative studies on English language teaching. Theories and practices in the field will be essential core of the course.
