English for Physics
This course mainly focuses on introducing fundamental skills in English in which students in department of physics could implement it in their real-life activities. The topic covers in the area of reading passage, grammar in use, and problem solving. In reading passage , it focuses on improving students’ reading skills and the comprehension tasks will range from skimming to scanning, from sensitizing to anticipating, from guessing to analyzing ; in grammar in use, it gives a thorough explanation of grammar pattern present in the reading passage; in problem solving, students are acquainted with simple description of side, shape, and measurements of objects. Furthermore, they have a chance to practice building simple sentences and transforming the structure of a sentence to another one in a way that the sentence retains its meaning.

English for Sociological Education
This course is designed for the 1st semester students of sociological education. The aim of this course is to guide the students to read, comprehend, and analyze various types of text related to sociological and educational matters. In addition, this course will also discuss some basic grammatical rules in terms of subject-verb agreement, sentence stucture, and language functions.
ENGLISH FOR SPECIFIC PURPOSES
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed to provide students with knowledge of the uses of English for communication in particular workplaces and with knowledge of syllabus design for teaching English in particular workplace. The program will involve various activities from the lectures to impart the concepts of ESP to the practices of the syllabus design. The materials will include the principles of ELT and their relation to the teaching of English using an ESP approach, the basic concepts of ESP, needs analysis, syllabus design, language analysis on ESP programs, material design, roles of ESP teachers, and assessment in ESP programs. The assessment of this program will be based on learners’ performance on assignments, tests, and a project on syllabus design.

ENGLISH FOR YOUNG LEARNERS. Mrs. KH KH. 2020/2021
Course Description:
This course is aimed to provide students an opportunity to explore basic principles of teaching English to Young Learners (EYL), to acquire skills of designing instructional media, lesson planning, and doing reflective teaching English to Young Learners. Within 16 meetings, the students will do individual, pair, or group works covering reading some written materials about the basic principles of teaching EYL, analysing instructional videos, discussing some relevant issues, and designing a lesson plan. In addition, as the final project, the students are also required to do reflective teaching practicum through service learning in their local community.
Course Objectives:
By the end of the course, after actively participating all meetings, participants are expected to be able to :
- Demonstrate adequate understanding on the characteristics of young learners
- Demonstrate adequate understanding on strategies to accommodate multiple intelligences and different learning styles of young learners
- Demonstrate adequate understanding on concepts of classroom management and the art of giving feedback in EYL class.
- Demonstrate adequate understanding on teaching language skills and components to young learners.
- Demonstrate ability to design instructional media for young learners
- Demonstrate ability to design effective lesson plan of teaching English to young learners covering: materials, media, activities (integrating songs/ games/ stories/dramas/ etc.), and feedbacks.
- Demonstrate ability to teach English reflectively to young learners with focus on creating positive atmosphere for EYL learning and actualise awareness on the importance of service learning in EYL

English Morphology
This course is designed to
provide students with the ability to analyse English words (word formation in
English). The topics will cover the basic consepts of morphology, types of
morphems, representing word structure (internal structures of words),
morphological process (derivation and inflection), and some morphological
phenomena in English. Dicsussions and reflections will be dominantly used to
strengten the students’ comprehension of the concepts along with the reports,
paper, and poster presentations given at the end of every topic (competency).
